Our Why
At YoungSpirit, we’re all about giving kids the chance to move, build confidence, and have a great time doing it.
We found OSHC while studying at University. What started as a casual job that aligned with a sporadic lecture timetable, came to be a passion and the focus of our life. The realization of the importance of this work dawned on us, fueled by the relationships we developed with the kids, families and the whole community.
Having worked as playworkers in Brisbane for several years, we wanted to bring something different - something with energy, purpose, and impact. After experiencing many vacation cares, we started seeing a pattern… providers with little OSHC experience, a lack of engagement from the kids, and many programs out of touch with their interests!
Our first program was built around Muay Thai, not just because it's dynamic and exciting, but because it teaches something deeper: respect, resilience, and self-belief. From day one, we’ve watched kids light up as they learn to move their bodies, test their limits, and feel proud of themselves - not for being the best, but for showing up with heart.
YoungSpirit isn’t a franchise. It’s not a box-ticking incursion. It’s a movement - run by passionate people who care about kids, culture, and good vibes.
